About J. Putterman...Let me tell you his story..........

J. Putterman Putters got its start from an inspired combination of the art of woodworking and the game of golf.  J. Putterman has never earned his  living at either one, but he's been a golfer since age 14 and a  woodworker since his early 20's.An article  about Lee Trevino once explained that, when he was learning the game as a youngster, he did not have a store-bought "high-tech" putter, so he fashioned a putter from a Coke bottle and a stick.  Was it possible, then, that a golfer could own a putter that is not "high tech", but would work just as well, and,  while being a beautifully crafted instrument and a personal statement of style?  After a few years of occasional experimentation with designs, various woods, shaft technology, and production tooling, it turns out that the answer is "YES".  J. was able to produce an exquisite, face balanced,  USGA compliant putter that  works.

To date, he's made putters for family and friends, sold them to golf buddies as well as chance golf partners who just "had to have one". Most users are regular golfers who use their J. Putterman Putter exclusively; some keep it around the office to practice and break the tension of the work day. AND…these exquisite putters are extremely popular as gifts and awards. Birthdays, Christmas, Father’s and Mother’s Day, Retirement, Promotion, or any special occasion.  Or for that unique trophy at the end of a tournament, Putterman’s putters characterize the ultimate in ambiance and camaraderie!

Since inception, J.  has gotten word-of-mouth referrals from all over the country from golfers ( and relatives of golfers) who want a putter for themselves, for gifts, and for fund-raising.   One customer bought one for a Christmas gift for her impossible-to-buy-for grandfather and was honored as "Granddaughter of the Year"! for her unique and thoughtful gift., Another golf buddy, who now plays in the 70's, testifies that his putter improved his green game significantly.   J. Putterman putters have been auctioned to benefit Habitat for Humanity and Kids First, an organization that buys sports equipment for homeless kids.  The feedback has been so positive, J. decided to "go public", offering them to whomever in the world would like the exquisite putter experience...a piece of functional art.

What makes JPutterman putters unique?  Well, except for the grip, they're wood...all wood...including the shaft.  Each is hand-crafted, assembled, and face-balanced to create a reliable pendulum.  J.  uses domestic and exotic hardwoods from all over the world. combining the wood types depending on what he feels "plays" together; each one is different.  The coloring, figuring,  and the grain directions have to work together before he proceeds.  The shapes, sizing, and the appearance may be similar, but each one is unique, because they are each individually laminated, cut, shaped, weighted,  and sanded to a finished piece of "art", with the proper lie and loft angles, of course.  The shafts are steam bent hickory...a process that takes several weeks...to produce an offset that contributes to face balancing.  Each is sized and gripped to your liking.  Because each putter is unique, they are offered in a gallery; there's only one of each.

There are three models: the classic mallet head, the pro-align design,  and the "two ball" head.  There is also a Specialty Category:  putter designs that depart from the ordinary.  J.  will customize... just tell him what you want.  One customer wanted a species of desert ironwood incorporated; he found some.  Another wanted a grip with a Marine logo; he found one.  He is strong on customer service / customer satisfaction and meeting commitments...doing what he said he was going to do.  If you are not satisfied with the putter for any reason, return it for a full refund ... he'll even credit you with the return shipping. Speaking of that, he ships a putter as fast as he can...couple of days for a gallery putter to couple of weeks for a custom job.   No separate shipping charges.

Now, it’s true, a Putterman’s Putter may or may not improve your putting!  The  number of variables involved in this shot…the grass, the slope, the moisture, the distance, the stance, the stroke….make a successful shot more dependent on the putt-ee than the putt-er. Take a look at the Pro-Shop....let him  know what you need.
